What is your content mindset?

We all know owning your own business isn't easy and maintaining your social media accounts all year round without losing total motivation is even harder!

So today we are going to chat about how to put yourself in the correct mindset for creating social media content in abundance so you can live your business life a little bit more stress-free.

Do you have a SCARCITY MINDSET?

A scarcity mindset is when someone adopts a mentality of lack thinking of resources as limited and fixed. This can lead to anxiety and fear if someone is not able to get what they want or need. It can lead to sacrificing quality for quantity and taking shortcuts that may have long-term negative consequences.

So how does this relate to marketing my business?

Having the correct mindset when it comes to creating content all year round for your business is important, we all have ups and downs of motivation but implementing the right mindset around the process of content creation can help your ideas and outcomes flow a lot easier which means YOU are then more likely to reap the benefits.

5 signs you have the WRONG mindset

  1. You post only when you remember too

  2. You focus on the number of posts rather than the purpose of them

  3. You are posting a lot but not getting any leads or sales as a result

  4. You shortcut posting to your community for paying for ads for quick results

  5. You don't think you have knowledge that is of value to others

So what mindset should I have?

An ABUNDANCE MINDSET

An abundance mindset is thinking that encourages a focus on plenty. It is the belief that there is enough of whatever you need to be successful and happy.

This includes money, resources, and opportunities. By developing this mindset, you can create a more positive outlook on life and be less overwhelmed by the stress and worry of not having enough.

So how do I get an abundance mindset?

Start by being mindful of your thoughts and language. Instead of saying "I can't do that" or "I'm too old for that," try replacing those statements with something more positive, like "That's something I want to learn," or "I'm working hard to get better at that." These are perfect when it comes to learning something new about Facebook, Instagram, or Canva.

Then, begin to focus on the abundance that already exists in your life. Take time to appreciate the positive and be thankful for the small things, like a reel that got a couple of hundred views, that post you did with 30+ likes or a supportive business friend. This will help you to recognize and appreciate the abundance that is already in your life, and will also help to create more space for abundance.

Finally, take small steps to make a change. Start by setting goals and taking action to reach them. Focus on the things you can do to improve your business life. By taking small steps each day, you can gradually create an abundance and avoid all of the additional stress.

5 ways to create a content mindset of abundance

  1. Surround yourself with people on a similar positive journey like you, the Ask Academy is the perfect place to start.

  2. Buy yourself a planner specifically for Social Media content and plan out what is happening throughout the year that you can post about.

  3. Take all the opportunities you have in the present to gather content AND save it for later. Schedule it in advance for when you are going on holiday or just to be extra organised so you can focus on other work that needs to be done.

  4. Be grateful for all the steps along the way, and take each post you make as a learning experience. Think "why did that post do well" or "how could I have done that post better" It is normal for some posts to do better than others, work with your clients or customers to see what they respond to the most.

  5. Be open to learning new things and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Not all of us love to be on camera and posted all over social media but I encourage you to be open to the experience occasionally as your audience will appreciate it.
